Analysing the Microstructures and Pin-on-Disc Wear Properties of 1010 Steel-Based and B<sub>4</sub>C-Added Materials Produced through Powder Metallurgy

The present study makes use of two distinct production methods. first method involves producing 1010 steel-based materials containing SiC, MgO, H3BO3, and B4C (wt%10 - wt%30) with varying weights through powder metallurgy. This step was followed by hot pressing. In the second group, after all chemicals were stirred, 20 ml epoxy hardener added to mixture. Then, mixture set aside harden. XRD SEM-EDS analyses conducted on observe morphological impacts. Furthermore, friction coefficient values also identified following wear tests under weights. revealed phase structures Fe3C, B4C, Fe2O3. As for analyses, they concluded surface appearance S60 S55B20, hot-pressed materials, dependent liquid sintering. SEM epoxy- based S60E20 S55B20E20 white spherical a flat matrix structure shallow holes. pin-on-disc experiment, value reduced addition H3BO3 (S60) steel (S100). By adding various amounts even further, resulting in improvement properties.
